Four Interesting Museums In Chicago That Are Quite Impressive
There are more museums in Chicago than you’re going to be able to visit, unless you plan on quite the extended stay vacation. However, you sure can visit some of the best museums if you know which ones are the most popular. There are quite a few interesting places in terms of museums in the Windy City, and you are about to discover four of the best.
The Richard H Driehaus Museum located at 40 East Eerie Street is one of the best. In fact, it is the 15th ranked attraction out of almost 700 things to do in Chicago IL. That really says something about this museum, don’t you think? This museum is an old mansion that features three floors, and it used to be the home of a banker by the name of Samuel Nickerson. Are you familiar with the Gilded Age? One of the popular points of interest within this museum is called the Tiffany Exhibit.
The Museum of Science & Industry is also one of the top museums in Chicago. Imagine seeing a German submarine from World War II and getting to climb inside. There is also a hamster wheel fit for humans, a beating heart that is 13 feet tall and so much more. You aren’t going to believe what awaits you in this spectacular museum. The Museum of Science & Industry also is in a very convenient location if you are going to be in the downtown area of Chicago often during your trip.
The next top museum is the Oriental Institute Museum, which is located at 155 East 58th Avenue. You not only get to stop by this museum, but you get to check out the neighborhood of Hyde Park, which is considered to be an attraction in and of itself. You might also want to know that it’s close to the University of Chicago, in case you wanted to stop by there as well. Reviews say that the Oriental Institute Museum is quite impressive, so you are going to want to stop on by and take the tour.
The Money Museum is a cool one, too, but I skipped it over to tell you about the American Writers Museum. I guess you could say that I was able to mention both of them to you. The American Writers Museum is located at 180 North Michigan Avenue, and there are plenty of interactive exhibits. Plus, there is a children’s section for the kids. The entire family will enjoy checking out this piece of American history.
Those four museums are some of the most interesting in Chicago IL. Of course, there are plenty of others you might want to try and visit as well. Check these four out, and see how they stack up against the museums you have been to in the past. Chicago has some really cool places of interest in general, and your vacation will be full of wonderful adventures and family memories. And, if you have any extra time to spend in the Windy City, be sure to check out Harborside International Golf Center and Millenium Park in Downtown Chicago.
